Hassan, Girish Taurani and Randhir Kapoor, Ramaiya Vastavaiya is a romantic family-comedy about a modernized young man who, after falling in love with a beautiful desi girl, follows her to her farm in Punjab. When confronted by her elder brother, the young man is posed with a challenge to yield more crops than he does, if this is accomplished then he will be allowed to marry her. Without any knowledge about farming, will he able to grow more than his beloved's experienced brother?
