Dr. Samanta is now working as an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, Bhupatinagar, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal, India. He obtained his B.Sc. degree from Midnapore College and M.Sc. degree with organic chemistry specialization from the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Technology, Vidyasagar University, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, India. He did his research work in the Materials Science Centre, IIT, Kharagpur and received Ph.D. degree from Vidyasagar University. His research interest includes polymer curing, toughening, chelate polymer synthesis, synthesis of Schiff base ligand and their transition metal complexes, antibacterial, cytotoxicity and DNA binding studies. Dr. Samanta has published 26 research papers in reputed international journals and published six ISBN books from National and International publishers. He is associated as life member with Indian Science Congress Association and with The Society for Polymer Science.
