Update 17/03/2021: still using the second phone. Replaced the battery. Now needs charging every day without heavy use. But still going great. It's classic!!!

Build Quality

Quite good.. one of the better handsets at this price range.. The removable back leaves some space in between which makes it feel a bit hollowish

Dragon Trail Glass for the front panel is an amazing plus at this price point.

No backlit Keyboard... hard to use in it in the dark... but this is something ...

Superb phone full value for money. Still working fully functional. Even working with original battery no battery replaced. This is why mi is the best of the best mobile phones. My phone is one of the most newly launched phones. It is a Dec 2014 model.

heat up problem ram management is not that k, apps crashes in middle , it can be fixed in an update ,
camera is the best in redmi 1s , no one can beat front camera, i got 3 screen protector with it,

1) look at the price you are paying for this phone. don't complain about the battery ram and heating problems mark my words don't expect an iphone in this price.
you get what you pay for remember if you wan't an excellent experience grab a moto g 2edi
if you can't spend don't expect it in 6k

First thing first, people who purchased this phone and expect performance and quality comparable to 20k phones will definitely abuse this phone. If u are like them don't buy this phone. I got this phone delivered on 25th sep and so I am writing this mail after a month of constant use.

Dear people crying foul, I understand your pain.

This phone was not meant for everyone. The people who are pained to have such phone, please migrate to other awesome manufacturers of the likes of Karbonn, Micromax et al. You'll have a great time dealing with the pristine quality product they have on offer. This was sarcasm, in case you didn't get it.

About the product. I have been using it for about a week now. Fiddled much around with it and now know how make it my pet.

Issues being faced by many users :

1) MIUI 5 takes up a lot of RAM. At times apps do crash for want of RAM.
Reply-True. The issue should get solved with the release of MIUI6.

2) Battery drains quickly
Reply-Let the battery drain completely and recharge full (100%). After 3-4 such cycles, the backup improves. After a charge of 2.5 hrs, the battery lasts for at least 12 hrs with heavy usage (steaming songs on wifi and playing games simultaneously) or upto 22-23 hrs with normal usage.
