Born in a small non-descript village in the Himalayas, he narrates how without mentors or guides, he proceeded to become a pioneering nuclear scientist of India. It is the journey of a common man of India who through perseverance, talent and hard work, crafted an exceptional trajectory. The story details his childhood routines, which entail treks of over 30 miles (50 km) on Himalayan paths from his village to college in Almora; the customs and traditions of his small village; and his eventual move to erstwhile Bombay (Mumbai) where he joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Sunta describes how he brought his young convent educated wife to his village the first time, and how he then introduced her to Bombay and his new home there.
