The story details his childhood routines, which entail treks of over 30 miles (50 km) on Himalayan paths from his village to college in Almora; the customs and traditions of his small village; and his eventual move to erstwhile Bombay (Mumbai) where he joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Sunta describes how he brought his young convent educated wife to his village the first time, and how he then introduced her to Bombay and his new home there.
