Just Perfect
I attended a research methodology course a while back and this book was recommended by one of the scholars. This book is perfect for beginners in research. I am interested in Social Research and this book was enough to get me started. But it doesn't matter which area you to do research. It gives you a holistic view of research methods in brief. One would have to refer to other books for detailed aspects though.

this should be the guiding book for all beginners
this is an amazing book. it is very easy to read and very easy to understand. the methodologies and their concepts have been watered down very gently, so that a complete novice may understand it well. this book helps me tremendously in understanding as to how to proceed with research studies. it is the ultimate guidance book for beginners.
