Very good packing. Satisfied with the tawa. Heavy weight and well suited for frying items like cauliflower, lady's finger, potato, raw banana, coccina and much more with less oil. More like a non stick. Maintenance is quite easy if it's coated with oil after washing and drying. A happy and healthy new member added to my kitchen.

Heating is not even as mentioned, while the food at the centre of the pan cooked, outer side of the pan not cooked

It's not ready to use. It's needed grinding with sand paper (grit 80&100).It's just awesome after smooth finish then it should be seasoned with edible coconut oil and flaxseed oil. After seasoning 6th to 8th time it will be ready to cook. Thanks to flipkart and Rock Tawa for providing such things to us.

I don't feel like this skillet is holding its seasoning down as well as it's supposed to. I've tried reseasoning it with sunflower oil, but the black, polymerised layers in some areas have faded away a bit and simply won't return. I don't cook any acidic foods on it either. It is still great for cooking meats and stir-fries. But that nonstick effect from the seasoning is slightly compromised.

I bought this cast iron pan as a replacement for one that was in usage in my kitchen for ages, 60+years.
I came across a video about careing and maintaining a skillet , and realised that my old ancestral pan could have lasted longer. Good for steaks, barbecuing and baking.
