Synopsis and Features
You have arrived in the city of Steelport to prove your worth. Gangs are everywhere and to win against them you must fight. These fights can be anything from a small burglary to taking out an entire gang with a rocket launcher. In Saints Row it’s you who decides what to do; you call the shots, every time. The only problem is that you are a newcomer. You have to earn respect among your followers and other members of the city to accomplish your dream of taking over the city. It’s only your skill and determination that counts and if you have think you have them then no one can stop you.
Developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ, Saints Row 3 promises a lot more action than the previous games. The minimum hardware requirements to run the game smoothly on your machine are Windows XP, 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2 processor, 10 GB hard disk space, 2 GB RAM, Online Steam account and 320 MB RAM equipped graphics card.
The game’s single player campaign starts with only goal- rule the entire city. Your gang has to rise from newbies to crime bosses, and this is done through successfully accomplishing missions. The game has a story-based mission format but also has side missions. A lot of side missions will take you on crazy missions that include babysitting a tiger, visiting digital computer world and many more. Each mission is more different than the last, making the game thoroughly enjoyable.
Customization plays are a large part in the game as you can customize almost everything in the game. From cars, people to your very own character, everything can be given a unique look. There are no restrictions on what element you can add to your character. If you want to dress up a girl like a zombie with a Texas accent, you can. If you want a hillbilly wearing a posh hat with a large axe on his back, you can do that too. The strength of Saints Row series always lied in its customization options and Saints Row 3 does not disappoint in that area.
Combat is as good as it was in the previous games. In fact, you can now punch people to instantly make them explode with a special feature called apocafists. The missions in the game vary from the Insurance Fraud missions that come back from the previous Saints Row games, to vehicle surfing, driving into oncoming traffic, and doing wheelies on motorcycles.
Earning respect in the game unlocks cool things that you can use effectively to complete all missions. You can earn respect for every job you do. The new items can be anything from new cars to upgrades for your weapons. The licensed soundtrack within the game will keep you entertained for hours as it has many memorable and eccentric songs.
Saints Row: The Third has many new elements like new missions that resemble army stakeouts to an insane number of vehicles and weapons. The game even features 2 alternate endings that pan out according to the way you play the game, making it truly unique and giving you a high reply value.
You can double up on fun with Saints Row 3 as you can play through the entire game campaign by teaming up with a friend. This allows you to do missions where you can control the driving part of a vehicle and your friend can wreak havoc with his gun on an unlucky neighbourhood. The game also features a Whored mode where hordes of enemies charge at you once and you have to kill them as creatively as you can. This is a level based gameplay and each wave of enemies differs from the last one.
The game has plenty of DLC packs such as Funtime! Pack, Moneyshot Pack, Shark Attack Pack, Invincible Pack and Explosive Combat Pack that add plenty of new missions to the game. You can download updates, trailers and other things directly through the company website.
