Zero-fuss, but really light.
For the last eight years or so I've routinely used a single pencil, a Staedtler Mars Micro. I liked it enough, of course, enough to have used it for that long, but there wasn't anything particularly special about its build quality that benefited me. From very early on it kept breaking leads, the rubber grip is of course pointless and brittle, and it was hell to keep clean.
