I brought this product 2 days back (from a physical retail store in Mumbai), after much research in Flipkart for a decent i5, 3rd Gen lappy.

Selected this for a variety of reasons (Pros):
* Price - The price of the product is well within reach, and is one of the cheapest for an i5, 3rd Gen system. Price decrease is also because of the FreeDos, instead of Win7

* Performance - Intel's i5, ivy bridge processor (or 3rd Gen) works smooth!!! Gave me a performance rating of 4.9 in Win7(x64)

Serves my purpose quite well. The same configuration would definitely cost around 5-7k more in Lenovo and HP. That way, its a great buy.

Several reviews have focused on the backlight problem in samsung laptops with ubuntu or its variants.

Solution: Install samsung tools ppa.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:voria/ppa via terminal. Remember to update with
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade via terminal.

Install packages samsung-backlight, samsung-tools. Reboot system to have all changes applied. Enjoy !

I find it extremely funny that most manufacturers bundle a Nvidia 610m along with 3rd gen Intel chips. I can no longer stand to see how not so tech savy customers looking for a good gaming platform are being fooled into buying this laptop, just because it carries an nvidia badge. it is a good product from samsung at this price. the config is really good .The graphic card is not upto the mark .litte bit problem to play high end games.

Except the battery backup(which last for only 3 hours which is mentioned as 6 hours on flipkart) which is wrong. Its a very good laptop. I use Ubuntu 12.10 and it works good.
Flipkart is providing at cheapest price.
