An emotion filled story of a husband and wife whose life is twined with the strands of love and distress. Sundar (Raj Kapoor) marries Radha ((Vyjayantimala) -the love of his life. But a letter from an unknown admirer written to his wife ignites the fire of jealousy and suspicion in his mind. This fire destroys all their happiness and ruins marital life. Radha refuses to reveal secret admirer’s name despite all the coercion. Discovering identity of letter's author becomes Sundar’s obsession and life’s only motive. Only a supreme sacrifice by a close friend Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) makes Sundar aware of ground reality.
