The name is derived from the Tamil words Appam and Utthia or Uttria, meaning Poured-Appam. The outer layer of Uttapam is crispy whereas the inner layers are spongy and soft. Preparation Method
Mix 1 measure of Sankalp’s Uttapam Mix with 1 ½ measure of water into a smooth batter. Set aside for 30 minutes. Spread one small cup of batter on a heated tawa, add a spoonful of ghee or oil, you can also add coriander, Green Chillies Onions, Tomatoes and fry both sides on low flame till golden brown, Rab tawa gently with damp cloth to cool the surface and repeat the above steps for another Uttapam.
Serving Tip: Serve hot with Chutney & Sambar
