Directed by John Lee Hancock and starring 2-time Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks of Forrest Gump fame, 2-time Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson, Paul Giamatti and Colin Farrell, Saving Mr. Banks is a biographical comedy-drama film. Inspired by the lives of Walt Disney and P. L. Travers, the plot of Saving Mr. Banks follows Walt’s desperate attempt at convincing Travers to allow him to make a film based on Mary Poppins, a noted literary work by Travers, after Walt’s kids beg him to do so.
