Savonius Wind Turbine by PicoTurbine With this vertical turbine design, you'll be able to explore wind energy. Its simple format will allow you to create a source of free, renewable energy either by just spinning the s-foil wind blades, or by holding it into the wind. Its intuitive incorporation of technology will allow for near-limitless customization and research into the field of green energy. It can run off of any source that can push air strong enough to turn the wind blades, like a fan, a hair dryer, or the wind. Featuring a strong, yet lightweight injection molded base and frame, the turbine kit also includes plastic s-foil wind blades able to capture the wind from all directions as well as a DIY alternator for producing AC power. Additionally, it also has the capability of being customized with additional coils and magnets (extra coils/magnets sold separately). A built-in LED light helps indicate the generated power, and a digital multimeter(not included) can be used to see how much power is being generated. The supplied coils are pre-wound to 200 turns, and the magnets are rare earth. Other types of magnets (not included) can be used to change the output of the wind turbine.
