About the Author
Amitav Ghosh is the author of ten novels and three works of non-fiction, including In an Antique Land, The Shadow Lines, The Glass Palace, The Hungry Tide and The Great Derangement. One of the most acclaimed Indian writers in English today, he has been awarded the Pushcart Prize, the Sahitya Akademi Award , the Prix M�dici �tranger Award and the Arthur C. Clarke Award. He was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2008 for Sea of Poppies. He divides his time between the US and India.
