Published in 2012, The Secret Wishlist is a poignant novel about friendship, relationships and following one’s heart in order to find inner happiness.

    Summary Of The Book

The Secret Wish List is a riveting story about the protagonist Diksha, who at the tender age of 16 lives the life of a typical carefree teenager. She juggles school work and fun, amidst schoolgirl crushes on boys including Ankit, and gossip and girl talk with her best friend. However, one day, an innocent crush explodes into a chain of irreversible events that result in changing her life forever. 18 years later, Diksha, the feisty, fun loving teenager, has been replaced by a very different version of her younger self. Now, at the age of 35, she is a jaded and bored housewife beneath the facade of a happily married woman. Married at 19 to Sandeep, a successful professional, and mother to a bright young boy, she is an unhappy woman who is dissatisfied in her loveless marriage and trapped in a domestic setting she no longer feels connected to.

When an unfortunate incident involving her cousin’s husband takes place, it brings all her unmet hopes and desires to the fore, opening up possibilities Diksha never felt she would find again. Stemming from a desire to fulfill her hopes and dreams, a secret wish list is born. It urges Diksha to following her heart and explore the possibilities of unrequited love that she denied herself for so many years. The Secret Wish List is a sensitive account of a woman’s soul searching and attempts at self discovery in order to find true happiness. Its intriguing storyline tackles the moral dilemma and temptations of an extramarital affair, the elusive nature of true love and whether it really does exist, the fragility of friendship and relationships, and the significance of one’s dreams.

The Secret Wish List is considered a bestseller, like most other novels by the same author.

    VERY ENRICHING READ

I loved “life is what you make it” by the same author. Infact it was first book of her that I read. I equally enjoyed, “tea for two and piece of cake”. So I was very excited to read, “the secret wishlist” specially since I had preordered it and got a personalized author signed book.

The interesting and intriguing story of protagonist Diksha made me read the complete book in one go. Though at some places I found striking similarities with “tea for two and a piece of cake’ yet I could apprecia...

    I loved it! :)

I am a great fan of Preeti Shenoy. I love her blogs but have never read her books! Bad! I know! This is the first book of hers that I read and I must say it is awesome! I loved the way she had written it and I fell in love with her writing again! A simple plot but the way it was narrated was so good. I read the book 2 times back to back on the same day! I have already suggested and forced few of my friends to buy this book. :P Seriously, don't miss reading it! :)

    Needless to say, flipkart's ...

Just completed reading "The Secret Wishlist"..Well, i took three days to read the book so as to think over the chapters read in a day....The book is a very engrossing read and Preeti was successful in touching all the minute details that were otherwise been overlooked by most authors....She created the character of the protagonist "Diksha" very well and in such a way so that it can be related and all of it felt so genuine...Many a times while attending many seminars related to personality dev...

    One word -- Spectacular.

One of the best books you would ever come across. The author is a born storyteller whose books top the bestsellers and her writings continue to inspire many.About The Secret Wish List, Captivating story line, realistic characters, a kind of narration that is bound to transport you to exotic locations, makes you feel heart warming true and deep friendship and care, an insight into the existence of few robotic humans. This is a story of how the protagonist Diksha gets to live a life of her choic...

All the time a question lingers in my mind,"Does every person intend to live their life THEIR OWN WAY".I think the answer to this question will come in two time frames, Before Marriage and After Marriage.
So Before it should be an YES and After it should be a NO
Someone married should realize this and make to live life "OUR OWN WAY" if not it will become a "MY OWN WAY" after marriage which is a mess.
And often the basics of "After marriage adjustments" one has to take will not be explained t...

    Mind-blowing purchase

The service by flipkart and storytelling by Preeti Shenoy are both commendable. However, there are certain grammatical mistakes in the book.

I lost my interest in reading and I've started reading books again. This book was the beginning of the mission. It didn't fail to develop my interest. Relatable, sometimes.es hilarious and sometimes emotional , it has all the elements. This book is my treasure.
I'd take it with me to my graveyard, it is that amazing and special for me. Thank you , Pre...

    Don't judge a book by it's cover

Yes, its correctly said in both ways that don't judge a book by its cover. Disappointing work by preeti shenoy. The whole story comes out to be so fake. I mean how can one love someone for 18 years without seeing him/her and that too when the boy and girl were just 17 and 16 resp. And I really didn't like the incident of extra-marital affairs, yeah it is prevalent in the society but use of this in books makes it more certain. Keeping that aside, the story isn't interesting at all. The cover o...
