Sze’s Semiconductor Devices: Physics and Technology 2nd Edition is a comprehensive book on the physical principles of the modern semiconductor devices and the technology involved in their advanced fabrication. It also includes apt historical explanations for the important devices and technologies. The book contains three sections: the first dealing with semiconductor material properties, the second dealing with the Physics of semiconductor devices and the third dealing with the processing technology adapted to fabricate these semiconductor devices.
About S. M. Sze
Dr Simon Min Sze graduated as an electrical engineer from the National Taiwan University in 1957 and completed his masters in 1960 from the University of Washington. He has a doctorate from Stanford and had worked for Bell Labs for about 27 years. Dr Sze, along with Dawon Kahng discovered the floating-gate transistor. He received the J J Ebers Award in 1991 for his work on electronic devices. He has also authored VLSI Technology 2nd Edition, Semiconductor Sensors, High-Speed Semiconductor Devices and Modern Semiconductor Device Physics among other books.
