Fantastic... I have lots of book on films but this is the best and outstanding... surprisingly it doesn't take much pages in analyzing story, scene, dialogue etc. but it is actually the story of MAKING of the film.. which is not less interested than the film... to me it's Anupama Chopra's best book. Bollywood film lover should not miss it. Sholay is not my fvt film but this book is certainly the one!

Needles to tell about the book. it is self explainatory as the film is historical. Sholay lovers should keep this one in their shelf.

May be its so much already written, heard and read about shoaly already, this book does not tell any different story. Most of the facts are already known to us. Good written documentation of the Blockbuster....

Jai Arjun Singh's recently released making of "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro" is a far superior read than this dud. Unfortunately, neither the subject of his book nor the author came with the hype enjoyed by Sholay. One would imagine Sholay back-story to have the the most masala, given the star-egos and chaotic workings of mainstream Bollywood. Sadly, both the writing and the tid-bits are quite lame.
