    Best for the price and otherwise

    This is one lens which any startup DSLR photographer should have. It gives an awesome range with the 70-300mm and is decently neat at the tele end too. Lack of Image stabilization can be seen when at 300mm, but like someone said... "photographers used to take photos even before IS was invented"

    Autofocus is strictly OK and you may want to put it on manual mode most of the time. Kind of like Old School. But I can live with that. Tripod would be a great partner when you intend to do low light...

    Good lens for the startup telephoto

    The is quite good for the photographers who are just starting to shoot tele range. Focusing system is bit slow and noisy. I have used it for two years. Its a good one for the beginners who want to shoot wildlife in a budget. but you have to think of upgrading in your later stage for a better and fast lens. After two years of uses the focus motor of my lens broke as it becomes slower and slower each day and it became a pain for me while focusing on my subject. Image quality was good earlier ...

    Value for money product. Nothing more to be expected at this price.
    It gives a range of 70-300mm and is decently neat at the tele end too. Lack of Image stabilization can be seen when at 300mm, but that cannot be expected at this price. Need to spend more for the IS version of this lens.
    Autofocus is OK and you may want to put it on manual mode most of the time.Tripod would be a great partner when you intend to do low light or zoomed up photography.
