I have read-VNS MURTHY,GOPAL RANJAN but when i got this(as usual flipkart rocks in delivery)I was not sure how this will fit in among the above books but as it was recommended by some of my proffs so i decided to begin with it,a week later i had come to know a lot of new concepts and things that earlier i didnt know and truly speaking this books builds your base and then nurtures it with good examples,and in the end you are left memerised by the effort the writer has put into this book.

The book can be helpful to students who wish to specialize in Geo-technical engg at PG level. It clears all basics and has more numerical, both solved & unsolved, than any other book on Geo tech engg.

the foundation part is has good content with neat and tidy explanation!!!

however the soil mechanics part is not so great as b c punmia

i recieved the book in 7 days, it was in a very good condition. The packing was excellent. The book is also very useful as per syllabus of RGPV nd also helpful for civil engineering GATE. Also the price is fair enough as on flipkart. The book guides you about all the small concepts and definitions in soil mechanicsI. One should buy this book as a reference for naotes making and tally of numerical problems.

Is a great book and too written clearly in good English. Concepts are explained well with supporting problems too.
Buy it and get fluent in know how on soil its type/texture and foundations to be used/composition etc.
