    Description

For Pia, regular life is a thing of the past. She is now an Army wife. From just Pia to an Aunty, a memsaab and her favourite words in the whole wide world Mrs Pia Arjun Mehra. At twentysix, Pia finds herself having to suddenly be more lady-like; focus on themed ladies meets, high teas and welfare functions; and deal with long (unexpected) separations from her husband, extraordinary challenges, a little heartache and well, growing up.
In the mysterious and grand world of Army wives, Pia learns that walking in high heels is okay as long as you dont trip on combat boots. She learns that civil is also a noun, that JCO and GOC are (very!) different, that snacks are shown and WTF is better explained as Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Yes, it really is a new world!
Let this quirky, hilarious story of the first year of Pias Army-wife life show you that the spice to a soldiers life is most definitely his better, very strong, bloody extremely elegant, never-cussing, witty, warm and passiona e half, his Army wife.

Soldier & Spice :An Army Wife's Life

Mrs Aditi Mathur kapoor did a marvelous job by truthfully bringing out the way life in the Army goes on.She was considerate in many ways to the senior ladies "Samp bhi Mare Lathi Bhi na tute". I wished she had brought out the secret behind how senior ladies always win tambola especially during farewell parties. My best compliments to her. Young girls falling in love with Army , better read it before tying the knot.

Hilarious. Almost like your favorite sitcom

Meet Pia - a "normal" girl from Delhi. She loves her short dresses, her loud friends, and her casual F-word including language. Pia marries an Army officer Arjun, and her world suddenly changes. I laughed so much reading this book that I was kind of sad it ended. This book is an account of an urban girl married into the forces and through all the ups and downs, eventually falling in love with the army wife life.

To all those people who are stressed out (and most of us are. Sad but true), I r...

Brilliant story! I demand a sequel!

I bought this one because I liked the description on Flipkart, and well, it seemed different - who isn't curious about the Indian Army life? Needless to say, I LOVED the book!

This is about Pia - a totally civilian girl who marries an Army Officer and how her plain old life changes quickly. From sarees to high-tea parties, from formal dinners to finding an equally quirky BFF, from being an outsider to becoming a part of the Indian Army family and completely loving it - the story tell us of ...

    Great Read

A novel on army wives and their emotions they go through. The novel is sneak preview of life of a newly wed civil army wife. The book is quirky, emotional and funny. The pace of narration is good for casual reader (which most of us are). A must read for all the non-army people to know about the life in army unit.

    Army wife! The best!!

As a fellow army wife I had picked up the book with a lot expectations and overall Aditi’s book does not disappoint. She has touched upon all the relevant and at times controversial topics that affect the life of an army wife. Glossed over them actually but this was a love story first and an army story second. The gossip and conflicts like this happen in every group of friends, ladies kitty clubs or even in office politics. She has meshed them very well into the story that might as well have ...

    For my wife

Though I did not actually read our, on my wife's recommendation I would give it the perfect rating!
Just to complete the min 100 words for the ratings, I may add that if you looking for classics and best sellers, look no beyond Flipkart..

Can't wait to read the sequel!

What a wonderful book! Yet another Chick-lit I've read in past one week and I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. The humour filled writing surely makes it gripping and the constrant twists in the book makes it compulsive to finish it off in one go!

You can totally relate to Pia, and her feelings and reactions to the events happening around her. One just can't help but imagine a life in her shoes!

All the characters in the book are very well portrayed, and it just can't get any better! All f...

You Can't Put This One Down. Hilarious!

Ordered this book after reading about it in DNA Bombay and then in The Hindu, and Flipkart delivered it the very next day!

And today I finished it simply because it is a book you can't put down - it is moves very fast. Though anything substantial starts to happen in the later chapters, the funny army incidents, the hilarious lists and the crisp and fluid writing makes you enjoy every bit. The characters are real and not saint like which makes it difficult to relate to a book, and this is th...

A Book That You Wish, Never Ends!!

For a civil girl like me, Army life is as foreign as it can get. But thanks to Pia, a regular-girl-turned-army-wife; I now know how life in Army is, at least to some extent!

Pia is a fun-loving girl and Arjun, her husband is adorable (umm.. I love men in uniform). The story revolves mostly around this new bride in the Army. About her getting used to the Army life, do's and don'ts that every Army wife should follow, her BFFs, about how every little event is so grand in the Army, all the high...
