Someone Like You is a story about friendship, love, and betrayal, featuring the lives of five individuals as they face the trials and tribulations of growing up and heading off to college.

    Summary Of The Book

Niharika Singh is the protagonist of Someone Like You. She is a normal girl with whom many young women can identify with. Shy, having low self esteem, and lacking confidence, Niharika feels nonexistent and ugly, until the day her sister Simran gives her a makeover. This transforms Niharika, and helps her realize that she is a beautiful, young woman after all. She soon decides to attend college in a new city.

Niharika’s adventure truly begins when she befriends three boys, Karthik, Akshat, and Tanmay. Of the three, Tanmay becomes her best friend, Akshat remains out of bounds, because he is her sister’s ex-boyfriend, and Karthik remains a mystery, for whom Niharika has conflicted feelings. But later, Niharika discovers that his aggressiveness is simply a blanket to hide his past. She also goes on to make friends with Pia, who is also her roommate.

Things start to spice up when Tanmay develops an interest for Pia. Pia begins reciprocating the same, but she is also involved in a long distance relationship with another boy named Vishal. Niharika and Akshat also begin to question their feelings for each other, adding more spice to the saga.

Although readers are expecting unresolved love stories, the novel takes unexpected twists and turns, much to the readers’ surprise.
Someone Like You was published in 2013 by Penguin. It debuted at the number 5 spot in Hindustan Times.

    It twists and turns

The story twists and turns a bit. Apart from that it remains a story about friends and the same old crush of a girl who doesnt know whom she loves... Niharika , the main character sometimes behaves so confidently and sometimes so foolishly that its tough to guess what she actually wants although the reader can see it clearly.

Just an ok ok one by durjoy`s standards

A Waste of time and money...!!

I am a voracious reader and a 200 odd pages book is a matter of one night...for me ...provided the book is interesting.

A book can be interesting if you do not want to put it away before completing it and the characters revolve in your mind long after you've completed the book and you almost feel like the book haven't ended so soon..It really happens with a good book ..Trust me...!!

This " MASTER PIECE" from Nikita Singh is far from readable ..let alone interesting ...
    You'll almost feel as...

    a MUST read book!!

The book is awesomely awesome as it is written by favorite authors Nikita and Durjoy. I loved the characters. The story starts with a girl who is careless enough to care about her looks, Niharika and on the other hand her sister, simran is too pretty to be ignored. i loved d chemistry between Simran and her boyfriend Viraat. And initial chapters includes makeover of niharika..and some love tips..which I am actually going to follow ;) with ol my heart.

i loved Tanmay with ol my heart when he...

Interesting? But still NOT worth a read!

This book is once again that similar cliched one by Durjoy, and lacks realism. The ever-changing and unstable relationships, breakups-patchups, all those old, usual things portrayed under a new cover and a new title. NOTHING NEW! Don't waste time on reading this one. STUPID book!

    Disappointing

This whole plot of story is poor.. i can't understand why one character has to die so that they can add tragedy to it. The main lead of story is too confused, sometimes she like this boy then that boy.. is it a joke. can they write a decent story .. this book is just ok .. No Wow moments, only full drama book where they lost all the grip of their characters..
