better go for Asus DRW-24B5ST ( 4.5/5) A more sensible choice
Other Thoughts :
Always have a good PSU ( Seasonics , Corsair ) to enjoy a long lasting HDD and Optical drives and other PC components

Don't go for this one ... :(
Works good untill its under warranty ... as soon as the warranty days are over so as the writer days are also over.
Better go for other writer but surely not for this.
my rating would be 1/10 [ 1 because its works good till warranty after that you are on your own ].

Good Product!!
I am using this from past 5-6 years not even a single problem with the drive.. I am a hardcore gamer so i don't use the CD's or DVDs that frequently.. If u wanna play the movies from your CD player then don't buy this, because it take more time to start comparing to the others.

A good value for your money!!!!!!
I bought this product from flipkart one year ago and it is working in a very good condition with good loading time and faster burning.....I even reads scratched disk properly. I suggest to buy this product without confusion as it is a sony product which has its own name and place in the market......

Bad Choice!
It is not at all a Good Choice for any body with DVD Writers manufactured by Sony.I had a Sony DVD Writer,which malfunctioned, just after the Warranty got over. No I am using LG, and surprised to see that it ran for about 4 Years.

Bad Product
i haven't purchased this product from flipkart but from my local market. i have owned sony cd writers and dvd writers before. they all have the same problem. after a year or so, the tray will stop working.if there is a CD/DVD inside,then the tray will open. otherwise you will be stuck pressing the button for eternity. so i would suggest you guys to go for asus or lite-on. hope i was able to help a little.
