Sony's Cycle Energy brand of chargers and battery banks is actually pretty good. I use a CP-V3 portable battery bank and my good experience with that was one of the reasons I went in for this purchase. Another aspect was my HTC One and Moto G were not charging fast enough from the respective OEM chargers. Just to clarify, a higher amperage does not damage your smartphone or tablet, instead using a lower amperage charger may cause more harm than just giving a slow charge.

The fast charging is an advantage and time saving. It is equally ideal for powering the GSM/CDMA WiFi dongles though some such dongles recommend 1 Amp devices. bought this as a replacement to charge my asus tf101 10" tab. does work well in terms of charging my tab even though for some reason the battery indicator doesn't show the charging sign for some reason.

Product is good, charges pretty fast BUT.... It is still recommended that you charge your mobile from the supplied charger. Reason - The supplied charger delivers the required voltage in the initial phase charging mode, when the battery fills up fastest, usually 0-70%. From 70% onwards, the voltage stops fluctuation and stabilizes to fully charge the battery all the way to peak levels. That takes its own sweet time.
