This is equivalent to a D-SLR

This camera has all te features that you want in a D-SLR. Why carry a camera with multiple lenses when you can have such a compact camera and yet have all te features loaded into it ? The HD movie recording is just mind blowing,. The super zoom minus the shake effects is unbelievable and delightful experience. This comes with 4 GB of SD card and that is more than enough. Pictures are crisp in all modes, soft portrait is amazingly beautiful and battery life is just too good. I am in love with ...

Amazing camera

I recently bought this camera, after dropping my idea of buying a DSLR. And boy, am I surprised. This camera is really affordable, has stunning looks, gives you a powerful 30x zoom[Manual & Auto], and even at full zoom , it can give you clear photos, with minimal noise in them. Compared to the Nikon d500, it has 16.2 MP (Nikon has 14), 30x zoom compared to nikon's 36, but on using both, I realised the quality and ease of use, was better overall, in this camera. I'm very satisfied with the pro...

trust me its a great camera compared to other bridge cameras!!!!!

i did a lot of homework and came to the conclusion of buyin the DSC HX100V and for sure i wont repent buyin this superzoom BEAST!!! had kept the SONY DSC HX100V, NIKON P510, FUJIFILM HS20EXR in for consideration... all 3 have their own advantages like SONY having its ultimate picture quality, FUJI with its ISO level(12000) and P510 with its awesome optical zoom(42x). all 3 cameras are in the same range(INR 22500-24000) but somehow SONY with its ultimate video and picture quality, 3D sweep pan...

Pros:
- User friendly

- Sturdy Body
- Sharp Images and Videos
- Can shoot 3D panoramic and normal pics
- The BEST stuff with the camera is its "INBUILT USER GUIDE".

Cons:

Loads of Features. Photo quality could have been better

Positives:
Intelligent Auto
Special scene modes like: Background defocus, Soft skin
Utra zoom 30x optical 4x digital. I could take clear photos of the recent eclipse
Many different modes for manual operation in varied levels!
Good for beginner in photography

Negatives:
-Not awed by the photo quality it produced indoors with flash on/off. Somehow I felt it looked similar to the quality of my 4 years old Canon A530 3.2MP camera, but with higher MP this time :16MP

If Photo quality is the...

Excellent camera! Futuristic GPS feature is a deal clincher!

I was looking for an ultra-zoom camera before my overseas trip. I narrowed the choices down to Nikon P500 and Sony DSC HX100V after reading a lot of reviews. In terms of actual performance, DSC HX100V matches the P500 pretty well. The GPS feature on the Sony camera, however, clinched the deal for me. It tags the actual location of your picture when you're shooting outdoors. So when you're uploading pics to Flickr, Picasa they show up on the map exactly where you had taken them. This makes the...

Very good camera

Pros: Very good picture quality and Video along with Stereo
Has good manual mode. After operating in Auto mode I switched to Manual mode which is helpful with exposure value indication. Built GPS, Compass, ND filter. Very good for travel photography, bird watching.
Cons: Picture quality not as good as DSLR. Does not have adapter screws for mounting hood/Filters.

Recommendadation: Good value for money. To get the best out of this camera understand the basics of photography on a minimum such a...
