Yet another Sony smartphone, the Xperia Ion is a phone with a list of specs that will make your jaw drop. The Xperia Ion uses the Android v4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and is powered by the 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion, Dual Core processor with 1 GB RAM. This killer combination gives you amazing speed and undoubted reliability. The Xperia comes with a 4.6 Inch TFT capacitive touchscreen that supports 1280 x 720 pixel HD resolution and 16 M colours. The Timescape user interface allows for easy use of the phone.
With a 12 megapixel primary camera that offers 16 x digital zoom you won’t be needing another camera on your trips. The amazing picture quality is further enhanced with nifty features like 3D Sweep Panorama, LED flash, Auto Focus and Geotagging that make taking pictures on the Xperia lots of fun. The phone also comes with a 1.3 megapixel secondary camera and supports HD video recording.
The Xperia Ion is quite the entertainment package and comes with an FM radio, 3D and Motion Games as well as a TV Out Port. The music and video players support a number of formats and xLOUD Audio Filter Technology gives you amazing sound quality.
Design
It’s quite evident that Xperia has been designed with the future in mind and the phone’s bold rectangular bar design certainly makes it look like a device from a Sci-fi movie. The scratch resistant display is backed by Sony’s Bravia engine that delivers increased image quality. And with sensors like the accelerometer and proximity sensor you can enjoy enhanced toggling capabilities.
Storage and Battery
The Android Xperia has an inbuilt memory of 13.2 GB (12.9 GB User Memory). The memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD or micro SDHC cards. Powered by a 1900 mAh battery the Xperia supports up to 10 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 4 hours on 3G. The phone delivers standby time of up to 400 hours on 2G and 350 hours on 3G.
Connectivity and Features
The phone is equipped with GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and USB tethering so you can stay connected no matter where you are. Send and receive emails, browse using the Android browser and stay connected with friends using Facebook and Twitter. The Xperia Ion also makes quite the travel buddy with A-GPS and Google Maps. Other useful applications on this phone include Google Talk, Gmail and Android Market. The Xperia has Bluetooth a micro USB port as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The best Smartphone Out There...... !!!!
Touchscreen is just awesome!!
Talking about specs..... Xperia series uses Timescape UI which i much tighter UI than Samsung's touchwiz... timescape is not processor hungry and does'nt require lot of RAM as well... I had a galaxy note before this and i have used S3 and note2 as well.
Samsung has poor build quality and poor UI no matter which smartphone u take...
Switching to Sony was the smartest decision i have ever made..

ultimate phone
It has got beautifull 1080p display, watching HD videos on this a great experience. bravia engine is ultimate. For the first 2-3 times battery was draining fast but later i learned to keep in battery saving methods, now battery is great too. it feels great when u r holding it in hand. it's 12 mp Camera is really superb. It has got everything but on screen capacitive buttons aren't that sensitive. still ...

i bought this product a week before.
its simply the best phone in this range.
its camera 12 MP is so perfect.
moreover front camera is also cool.
i would like to give u a brief description..

1)4.6" 720 p display(similar to apples retina display)
2)with thie 323 ppi pictures and videos are crisp and smooth like never before(1080p recording)
3)1.5 ghz dual core snapdragon processor (powerfull)
4)adreno 220 graphic chip gives good gpu rendering.

Overall Experience
About the working n features: Firstly even to turn on the phone you've to charge it for 30minutes, and after that you can start it but if you dont have a 'sim' its gonna shut off.. The first complete charging of the phone will take a considerably long time. Next charges from 0% to 100% will take around 2 hours.
The battery on 3G with frequent data trans...

Please do not compare with other cellphones. It's lame.
I do not own an ION ,but I am a Sony user and have always admired it's quality.
The reason I am writing this review is because of some reviews I read which compared this phone with iPhone.I mean,really? Sony phones are of a great quality and cost less than HALF of what iPhones cost.

1 WEEK AGO I BOUGHT THIS PHONE AND I AM FULLY SATISFIED BY THIS PHONE THE SCREEN QUALITY WHAT I SAY ITS SO CRISP AND CLEAR, THE CAMERA 12MP WHICH ALSO VERY GOOD, THE SCREEN SIZE OF PHONE IS BEST. ITS NOT TO BIG LIKE SAMSUNG GRAND AND NOR TO SMALL. IT IS COMPACT TO HANDLE, FLUID TO OPERATE NO LAG IN UI AND FOR MULTITASKING IT IS ALSO GOOD.
