    A fabulous adventure

'That which does not kill only makes us stronger. What an astute observation by Nietzsche. I wonder if he was on a bus in Nepal when he came up with that. Nowadays, when I hear people whining about the puny little bumps on Indian roads, I tell them to take a vacation in Nepal. The roads in India are buttery slopes compared to the ones in this country. However, this minor detail is not an issue for Nepali bus drivers, who barrel over the ditches with unflinching ferocity, flipping over passeng...

Himalayas Just keep Calling you back. A great Journey across himlayas

I have read only 1 book before which described a journey or a travel of few people as fiction element. I picked this book after a notification of GoodReads.
I was intrigued as it mentioned a journey through Himalayas which has been my dream. I have traveled a lot on Himalayas but as we say "HIMALAYAS KEEP CALLING YOU BACK"

The Book starts with Amrita And her friend going on a month long backpacking trip along Himalayas. the trip takes you from Darjeeling, Rumtek, Yuksom, Kathmandu, Pokhara, ...

    Worth reading

Loved the book—the wit, the humour, the tales of travel, the romance... everything. A great read. Travel writing comes of age.

    A powerful and honest memoir

This is a powerful, blazingly honest memoir, an epic adventure that begins with the best stimulant ever: boredom. In this riveting narrative, this potential award-winner takes you across rivers and mountains to lands you will want to revisit after reading this book.

    Special Lassi.. Perfect travel book..

One of the best travel books I've read in a long time. Reminds me of my college days, when we would just pack our bags and take a bus to manali for the weekend. Two friends in Special Lassi gets into all sorts of trouble during their trip but the way author writes about these moments are the funnest bits..!! Loved It..! I laughed out loud several times, esp about the chapter in Nepal. And to forget all the stoner epiphanies these two have on their way, a bit too earnest at times but i guess t...

    Fun and crazy indeed

Glad that indian authors especially women writers have taken to writing about travelling and misadventure with a funny note rather than always end up writing about romance and big indian fat wedding. Though it only a dream for most Indian gals to be able to travel like that even though it ends up in silly misadventure. The video was cool....inspired me to read.
