This book is well written. Great book, filled with very clear presented examples and concepts from general SQL programming.
I would just say this book is great. It provides an excellent explanation of stuff relating things to real world examples. Would highly recommend anyone who wants to understand the SQL!

This book could be called 101 Best Wait Stats Solutions, and the title would probably only be inaccurate because there are more than 101 solutions in this book. There are almost 500 different wait types in SQL Server 2008, and that number is only going to increase over the next versions, so learning how to deal with wait stats now is very important. because it contain great real-world examples(eg."Signal wait time"). So it is very-very easy to understand the wait stats for beginner like me...

I always think that no one give technology related example(real world) which help us to set the mind picture.....
But this book have great collection.

I want to compliment Pinal and Rick for providing information in such a simple and informative way, the examples used are really helps in understanding the concept very well. I can be used by beginners also.

In a recent customer performance trouble shooting exercise they were getting into some sort of slowness in their application. Running couple of queries found some interesting insights into Wait Stats which was nicely explained in a whole chapter for CXPACKET.

More than just a reference this is a practical book on some of the major WAIT STATS which even a novice DBA can also easily understand.

Just finished reading this book and really loved it. This is the only book I could find, which provides a very detailed explanation of SQL Server Wait types in a very simple and easy-to-understand language. A must have book in every DBA's book shelf.

This is very amateurishly written book. I believe it should not cost more than Rs 50.

I seriously feel bad about this.

In Indian film industry prirated dvd/vcd are sold because out of 100 movies only 10 makes sense to be viewed.I believe when people write such book and the price is put higher, there is not other way, download the e-book from some sites.
