Chaitanya Bhagavatam is a famous book in Bengali language written by Vrindavanadas Thakur on the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu . It is described in it that after taking initiation near Ishwarpuri, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, while going from Gaya to Navadvipa Dham, saw Lord Krishna here for the first time and was embraced by him. For this reason this place was later named 'Kanhaiyasthan'. The footprints of Radha- Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu are still present in the said Kanhai theater . Hindi translation and editing of 'Chaitanya Bhagwat' composed in Bengali language has been done by Brajvibhuti Srishyamdas
