Concise and Good book in one word. If you need to know and go through the topics at one go and quickly too, use this book. The book is lucidly written. Cons-- You have to get another book for elaborate learning. May be the book from F.Reif ( Statistical and Thermal Physics) or R.K.Pathria (Statistical Mechanics)

Its a good book but with a different approach unlike all other conventional stat mechanics books.
This book is really challenging though concise and to the point approach. So it'll be a challenging read.
