The author worked in mechanical engineering design for around 20 years at MNCs located in India and abroad. He was awarded for his performance in the design and development of various mechanical products. He loves physics and is passionate about mechanical engineering products and their working physics. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras and an M.Sc in Computational Science and Engineering from the University of Technology, Munich. The later education gave him exposure to the mathematics behind FEA and helped him to relate mechanical engineering with physics and mathematics to solve various practical design-related problems simply using FEA. He developed many mechanical parts and optimized them using FEA.
