Reality tends to be cruel; for some people it’s worse than cruel. When hurt badly by the nature of a ruthless reality, the only option left is escape. Directed and co-written by Zack Snyder and starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish and Vanessa Hudgens, Sucker Punch is an action fantasy-thriller flick about a young girl who due to her abusive past tends to seek refuge in a fantasy world that she has created in her mind as a defense mechanism. After being institutionalized by her evil stepfather and spending a considerable amount of time there, she visualizes a plan to escape the asylum.
