PC817 Series contains an IRED optically coupled to a phototransistor. It is packaged in a 4pin DIP PC817 consists of a diode emitting LED and a phototransistor. They're optically coupled together. The electrical signal is transmitted optically between the input and the output side without any physical connection between the two sides. The IR circuit can be designed by hand, but we have a fully pre-designed and small built-in IC circuit known as the PC817 Optocoupler. The PC817 Optocoupler is small and comes in multiple packages.
