Tahaan  (Movie, DVD)

Depicting a tender childhood innocence amidst the war-stricken Kashmir, Tahaan is a story of an 8-year-old boy, who often hears distant gunfire, which is a constant reminder of the battle going on between India and Pakistan for territorial reclaims. When his beloved pet, a donkey, is seized and taken away, as his poor family fails to pay debts, Tahaan sets out on a quest to reclaim it. His innocent journey leads to a numbing violence that he has no capacity to understand. Directed by Santosh Sivan, this Hindi drama film stars Purav Bhandare, Victor Banerjee, Anupam Kher and Rahul Bose in main roles.
