This book deals with the great pioneers who laid the foundation for the present scientific medicine. The advent of modern medicine is the result of great sacrifices made and struggles faced by highly dedicated doctors and scientists. Their relentless hard work in unravelling the mysteries associated with the epidemics and pandemics that took away the lives of millions of people globally must be brought to the knowledge of the people and medical fraternity which may benefit the society by way of enlightenment. The author has compiled the tales of some of such pioneers in medicine for the benefit of the people around the world. Hope this book will be of use in conveying to the people the hardships and limitations the doctors and the scientists had in their pursuit of truth about various diseases and in dispelling the myth associated with them.
