Good lens for Sony Alfa series
Hi,
I have been wanting to buy this lens since 3 years now and finally did buy it a month ago. For everyone who had brought a Sony DSLR - the money made perfect sense. I paid around 900 AUD ( then 33rs/$ ) back in 2009 - was a good deal considering it came with two lens . But since then i have been struggling for one single lens that covers a good range.
For the money you pay - this is indeed a good lens. The quality of pictures is good and is light and fast considering its a non sony lens...

Best all-purpose lens
I ordered this lens on 14-mar-13 with flipkart, using AXIS bank cash back offer. Item delivered to me on 15-mar. Hats-off to flipkart for both delivery and offer.
Lens is very good and provides a versatile focal length range. Unlike the kit lens, I can use this lens in a variety of occassions. The lens produces quality photographs.

This is not a quality lens. Abovr iso800 it can handle. Fully grainy image. Better go to 70-300

Good for day today photos- lacks sharpness
Hi
i was using tamron 70-300 zoom lens, Tamron 70-300 was better w.r.t color and sharpness from sony 18-55 mm lens. To overcome changing lenses bought this 18-200 mm. This has too many drawback compared with the 70-300. Focusing time is more, color reproduction not matching even the sony lens. I tried all possible settings to take good picture with this lens with no success. My advice is to use go for Tamron 70-300.
