    Excellent entry level multipurpose zoom

Excellent entry-level multipurpose zoom lens. I purchased it with my Canon EOS 1100D (T3) DSLR camera. Very good all round performance at both ends. Synchronises perfectly with the autofocus function. Lightweigh and easy to carry. Macro function available between 180-300 mm.

    Good Product from Tamron

This is a good telephoto lens from Tamron. This lens does its job of telephoto. I have not yet explored this lens to it fullest, but initial photo findings have been pretty good at the price that this lens is selling for.

I would infact say that this lens has been performing better than my Canon kit lens 18-135 (not from the telephoto perspective, but overall performance). Portrait photos are crisp and clear compared to Canon 18-135 where the photos have been "soft". The only problem that ...

    Great for Beginners

The Tamron lens is a good piece to buy for those who are still new to DSLRs. Though it does not have Image Stabilization, i take this as a plus as it let me train myself to take steady shots as and when possible. I do admit however, that on low light situations it does become a hindrance as you are only human. I would still suggest that you go for it as it gives you Macro as well, which i love!

Good performance wrt rate. NO Image Stabalization but still fine

I had bought it in October 2011, faced lens error issues on 25th May 2013,
"Err 01 Communication between the camera and lens is faulty "
during critical time of photography, however got the fix for the same on same night, as one of the blogs mentioned it is due to wrong aperture. setting aperture to ƒ32 would resolve the issue. It helped in my case.
Macros in this were great too.

Replacement of Order No OD301375221535348200 (Tamron AF 70-300 Lens)

This is the first time I am finding an item defective when received. The zoom ring of the lens was non-functional. Of course I have asked for the replacement of it and I have been assured the product specialist will call back.

Since I am in ISRO (High Security Zone) , mobile phones are not allowed so I have made a request to call in my official land line 079-26912342 and I do hope to get a call on this number.

Great lens for the price range

I was looking for a budget lens with decent zoom and good macro. Being an amateur, I didn't know which one to choose. A friend of mine suggested this Tamron lens. I ordered it and got it the very next day (awesome service by Flipkart). Considering the price, my expectations were not too high. But I was surprised as to how good this lens performed; especially the macro function is really good. I shot some close-up shots of some insects, flowers and birds, and they come out really nice. The zoo...
