An inspiring book, Tao Of Jeet Kune Do is a literary expression of the famous martial arts expert Bruce Lee’s personal notes, philosophies, and reflections on the art of self defence as developed by him through years of training.

    Summary Of The Book

Bruce Lee, world famous actor and martial arts expert, has been considered an exemplary figure in the martial arts arena who, through years of rigorous physical training, research, and education had propelled a fighting system and philosophy known as Jeet Kune Do.

Tao Of Jeet Kune Do, based on the personal notes, sketches, and thoughts of the great martial artist himself, explains the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do in detail, as well as the science behind it that makes it an effective and practical system of self defence. The book is a compilation of many of Bruce Lee’s self-written essays, notes, and illustrations which allow readers a rare glimpse into the workings of his mind and his creative genius.

Tao Of Jeet Kune Do was first published in 1975. This edition, a new and updated version of the original iconic book, is a collaborative effort of Bruce Lee Enterprises and Shannon Lee, the daughter of Bruce Lee. It contains hundreds of sketches and illustrations made by Bruce Lee himself, and takes a detailed look at concepts involved in fighting such as footwork, kicking, grappling, striking, general fitness, body mechanics, as well as alternative concepts in self defence.

The book talks not only about martial arts and self defence, but essentially underlines the Tao and Zen philosophies, as well as wisdom of great thinkers including Confucius, Lao Tzu, and Sartre that influenced Bruce Lee, and were instrumental in formulating his own approach to life and martial arts.

Offering a fascinating insight into Bruce Lee’s personal views and notes, and featuring an introduction by Linda Lee, Tao Of Jeet Kune Do is a timeless, enriching, and must-have book for all those aspiring to learn about martial arts.
