Summary Of The Book

TARGET CBSE Science (Class - X) adheres to the syllabus and guidelines laid out by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is ideally meant to be a supplementary textbook to help in exam preparations as it aids in the revision of concepts laid out in the textbook of the NCERT, and also provides practise questions, solved sample question papers, and a model unsolved CBSE question paper. The practise questions cover the 1, 2, 3 and 4 mark questions, in addition to miscellaneous questions and a bonus Self-Assessment Test for every chapter.

The book starts with a preface and the detailed CBSE exam syllabus. It then progresses to chapters which are categorized according to terms. Term I includes Acids, Bases and Salts, Chemical Reactions and Equations, Life Processes, Metals and Non-metals, Electricity, and Control & Coordination, in addition to Sources of Energy and the Magnetic Effects of Electric Current.

At the end of this section, there are sample questions, solutions to these questions, and an unsolved question paper. Term II incorporates chapters like the Periodic Classification of Elements, Carbon and its Compounds, Heredity and Evolution, How do Organisms Reproduce, Human Eye and Colourful World, Life-Reflection and Refraction, Management of Natural Resources and Our Environment. This is followed by the 2012 CBSE question paper, Board Examination Papers (Delhi Set) and Board Examination Papers (All India Set) 2012 CBSE.

This is a very helpful textbook as it recaps all the essential points of every chapter, provides an extensive range of detailed practise exercises, HOTS-based questions and a glossary for future grades (Class XI and XII).
