    Description

Tea For Two And A Piece Of Cake is a heartwarming love story about a plain Jane sort of woman, whose life is suddenly turned upside down, only to be reordered once more with the help of a good friend.

    Summary Of The Book

Tea For Two And A Piece Of Cake features Nisha as the protagonist. She is portrayed by Shenoy as a woman who feels plain, imperfect, and plump, and as a woman in whom no male would take interest in.

Life throws a loop one day when she loses her job, which she valued more than anything else in her life. And just as she relinquishes all hope, fate sends Nisha a life saver in the form of Samir Sharma. Rich, Ivy-league educated, and dashing, fate really smiled at Nisha, as soon afterwards the pair head to the marriage altar.

Alas, the mundaneness of domestic life throws a new wrench into Nisha’s happy life. Slowly but surely, her relationship with Samir begins to change, and even more so when two children come into the picture. After eight years of marital bliss and the security that comes with marriage, Samir’s announcement comes crashing down on Nisha and her world. Samir reveals that he wants to leave Nisha for another woman, a younger one at that.

After recovering from the shock, Nisha struggles to gather herself together and leaves with her children. It is when her friend Akash enters the picture, that the plot of Tea For Two And A Piece Of Cake changes to a positive tone. As Nisha regains her self confidence and pieces together the shattered remains of her life, her friendship with Akash deepens. But Nisha’s past never fails to haunt her nor does she feel it appropriate to burden the young Akash with her problems.

Tea For Two And A Piece Of Cake was published in 2012 by Random House India. It was in the top five bestsellers list in India for 2012.

    Good Read

I am wary of reading books by Indian Authors as they seem to be trying to prove to the world how cool they are, use some hip language and slang...and they think have a masala pot boiler on their hands.
I recently picked up Tea for two ...and started reading yesterday...And before I knew it I was staying up to finish the book...The story line is not unusual but Preeti's portrayal of the characters and her language warmed me up to the book. She uses simple language, isnt dramatic and seems to ha...

    Bold and Refreshingly Different !

Once again Preeti Shenoy has managed to surprise me. And How! Usually authors tend to follow the same pattern of thoughts and plot for all their books but this is where Preeti stands apart from the rest.

Tea for two and a piece of cake is very different from not only her earlier works but also from the other books in the market. As she had done with her previous book, Preeti dares to go off the beaten track once again, this time to explore different facets of human relationships, be it love...

    ~Get Ready With Your Tea~

Tea for two and a piece of cake, plus, of course, conversation... These small moments are what make life worthwhile.

The book starts in Mumbai, where the lead character â?? Nisha-the-plump-plain-Jane lives. Her life takes an audacious turn in mesmerizing Bali leading to bizarre twist of events to happen again in Mumbai. A complete roller coaster emotional rideâ?¦
The aromatic and apt portrait of a middle class and high class Indian society is commendable. You will see this world through the...

    Perfectly Unusual!

To start with, let me remember you a statement that you would have heard or read "All is fair in war and love" (from the JAB WE MET- Movie).

The Film makers say "We have conceived the movie in a different dimension and blah blah blah".but those movies would have got one more spicy item dance and unwanted scenes. There would be few movies which actually mean it. We love it and the makers do mean what they say and this applies to this book

Before reading the book, I had no idea about the stor...

    An OK read

Preeti shenoy writes nicely. But the plot is not novel. Its a typical modern indian movie plot.I liked her first novel "34 bubblegums and candies".Even the second one was fine".But the third one "Tea for two and a piece of cake does not have a twist in story line. It is a regular story. It would have been better if she would have written more about why the modern Indian generation are not giving values to a relationship and using it only for S------.

    Very well narrated story!

I got this book ordered from Flipkart and as usual they gave me a quick delivery within 1 day.

I have previously read other books from the same author and they were brilliant. So I decided to read this novel and it lives upto the reputation.
I finished reading the entire book in just 2 days. The story is so well narrated I couldn't keep the book down. At the end of each chapter you are left with the curiosity to know what happens next. Its not like one of those books where you have to keep a...

Some books just leave an impact

I was at the doctor's clinic and saw this girl reading "Tea for two and piece of cake". Being a literature person I could not resist asking her to give me the book just to scroll.

I read like a page and was glued, ofcoure the next best option was to buy it from Flipkart, I loved the reviews about this book and trust me its an awesome read.

There are some books which look like movies and surely this is one masterpiece. I am not into coffee table book reading but Priti Shenoy has made me on...

    Great read.....she's done it again!

A lot has been said about the story so I'm just gonna talk about my experience with the book..
I have read all of Preeti Shenoy's books and placed an order for this one on flipkart before its release. The book arrived and as soon as I opened it, I was overjoyed to find that I'd received a copy signed by the author herself!
Well about the book, I know it has been said a lot of times in the other reviews but to state the obvious....this IS the kind of book you cannot put down without reading it...

    Addictive and Fresh Reading

This book is immensely likable for start. From page one I was completely hooked on to it. A very well written and must say the author's idea of using song titles as chapter name was cool. The characters are very real and not even for a second you will find story getting too sloppy or any sort excessive sexual overtones in writing. The reasons of separation are put from both sides and kind of keeps the story rooted in real world situations. Nor does it goes for cliched twists and turns. The en...
