Aimed at helping readers to start their own successful businesses even with a limited budget, the book is filled with unique stories to inspire all those who want to begin their own business.

    Summary Of The Book

The $100 Startup: Fire Your Boss, Do What You Love And Work Better To Live More is all about how people can chase their dreams and live their lives by following their passion. As most people feel that it is the lack of money that prevents people from chasing their entrepreneurial dreams, through this book, the author puts together a profile of successful business people who have started their businesses with limited investments. Through a case study of 50 people, the author discovers that despite the lack of extraordinary talents, these people discovered how a hobby could be used as a medium to earn money.

While some people were forced to start their own ventures due to unforeseen circumstances, for others it was their passion and skill that enabled them to begin new ventures. All these were possibilities which became opportunities for those who were ready to take the risk. From the first step of deciding a viable business venture to even starting a franchise, the author takes the readers through the journey of business development. In addition, beginning a business does not need a lot of money, but just requires will power and creative thinking.

By spotting the best opportunities and taking advantage of them, these people managed to make money. For example, Brett Kelly discovered that there was a lack of a manual or guide for the Evernote. By writing a manual for the application, he not only earned money with it, but was eventually employed at Evernote as well. Filled with such interesting stories, the book tells how the information age provides every individual with a chance to strike it big. Such stories also stress on the fact that it is not just passion that makes a person successful, but also how passion when channeled at the right time plays a crucial role in enabling a person to achieve success.

Written with a sense of practicability, The $100 Startup: Fire Your Boss, Do What You Love And Work Better To Live More provides a pragmatic and focused approach into building a business. With new strategies and checklists, the author provides insights to help readers to establish and run a successful business.

    The hundred rupee wakeup

I first read about this book in The Economic Times and immediately looked up flipkart. i am glad that I bought it. When I was half way through the book, I decided to have my own website and registered two domain names. I am now preparing material for my websites. This book is helpful to entrepreneurs. If you are a 9 to 5 person, this will not serve you.But if you have read RICH DAD POOR DAD and looking for step by step guidance, this IS the book.

A nice book to get started with a startup

Summary of my review: I would give 8/10 to this book. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get started with startups. Caution though - this is not a detailed account of startups

Opinion: A very fresh and welcome read in the startup segment by Chris. What I loved about and what this book is definitely not compared to few other startup books that i have read is that this is not a professional scientific, clerical book on staartups which give you a picture of each startup becoming a multi-mil...

    Simple, yet useful

This book offers useful tips without being preachy. It covers enough examples so that you relate the theory to reality and you'll find at least one story that resembles your own. Personally, it helped me identify things that I could do to improve my freelance career as a writer and look out for possible obstacles.

But most importantly, it showed me that there a lot of people who have taken risks and it somehow made me feel less ambivalent about my own career choice.

    Very good Read!!!

Before buying I read reviews of this book and finally when I have finished reading this book. I was more than impressed. The thing which really set this book apart from other business making books is that it persuades you into the reality of businesses and doesn't offer fairy tale enthusiasm and euphoria which doesn't help in real life. Many stories are very fascinating and inspiring. MUST READ FOR BUSINESS START UPS

    Pros
Realistic ambience of businesses and it's startups, ingenious and clev...

    Precise, Simple and Interesting

The brief stories of many successful entrepreneurs have been woven intricately with some very relevant yet simple lessons. I loved the flow of the book. Its breezy and up-to-the-point. You may read it at one go or at your own, 1-2 chapters at a time. I can't say how much it motivated me, but it did make me happy. Highly Recommended!

Its more of a documentary with catchy title

First review ever. Not sure could justify the job but felt to write. The title is catchy some case studies are good but it will not make u an entrepreneur nor it will make u fire your boss. Yes u can keep your boss aside and start a start up. This is just one side of the story. Book never talks about million of failures. When the stakes are less ($10, $100) you do for fun not for serious business.

On the flip side it might help those who are seriously contemplating of doing something might g...

What a waste of time and money!

Don't judge a book by its cover! ... the only good thing about this book is its cover. there are 1000times better books on the subject of money like the rich dad series and Think and grow rich. As far as the info in here is concerned regarding money on the internet, you can find that on the internet as well! The writer is a dumb ass who is trying to cash in on the online money making dreams of a novice. The writing shows a lack of clarity of thought (and a sense of direction in writing as wel...
