Kargil hero Major Anwar Islam, newly inducted into the RAW, lands a big catch in his net an ISI shipment of Anza Mark III shoulder-fired missiles meant for the Taliban which the mandarins of South Block use to play an audacious game between Pakistan and China. Anwar then discovers a secret cabal hatching a sinister conspiracy that could lead to thousands of innocent deaths. With a master puppeteer playing a most dangerous game behind the scenes, Anwar can trust no one except crack policeman Vishal Karandikar. Together, they must race against time to prevent Indias own 9/11.

A fast-paced action thriller that shifts from the high passes of the Karakoram to the slums of Mumbai, The Anza Deception is a tale of rogue commanders, double dealers and high-stakes geo-political poker played out in the murky world of South Asian intrigue.

    Great read!

It was a great racy read and very unique, because it is not too often one gets to read a plot set in Indian geo-political and military themes. The characters, the plot and the climax were fascinating, with the pace never dragging. The ending was a very realistic one too. I wouldn't be surprised if Anza Deception is made into a movie - it has all the ingredients for a good thriller! Looking forward to more from this author.

A fab thriller in company of Maclean, Forbes, Follet with a sub-continent twist

I had no expectation but was filled with curiosity as how it would unfold. I had a conference call to attend as soon as I finished the first chapter and with great reluctance put the book down to take it and had to expend a lot of energy to keep my concentration on the call. Rushed back to the book as soon as I finished and the call and only put it down when I finished the book. I am a voracious reader with a wide taste, but thrillers with military themes (novels by Maclean, Forbes, Follet) a...

The ending is awesome, and the first spy thriller that Ive read, thats set in the Indian subcontinent !

    Fantastic read

Given India's dramatic and sensitive geo-political relations with its neighbors, you'd expect many more thrillers around this but its sad that we don't have much to read except for the FBIs and CIAs of the world. Until now. P R Ganapathy's book is a fantastic read and gives us a good view of the world of Indian intelligence. What fascinated me in this book is the maturity of the plot and the ease of read. Its unputdownable from the start and the characters are very well sketched and you actua...

    Racy read !

Just finished Anza Deception and the book now has the distinction of being the only one that I have read cover to cover since I had my baby (my son is now a year old) !

The fast paced book provides the reader with a beautiful narrative of the great Karakoram highway to the frontiers of China against a clever plot of espionage, double dealings and international spies.

Thank you PR Ganapathy for transporting us to these beautiful vistas that one can only hope to visit.

Anza- A fast paced racy read

The Anza Deception is a fast paced racy read. It is of a genre that brings back memories of the great books of the cold war, by Forsythe, Colin Forbes, Tom clancy and of course, Alistair Mclean. Anwar and Hrishikesh, the protagonists are well defined and layered charecterisations. There is definitely space for a series of books here. I hope this the first of many books of this genre.

It is nice to read about a geo political conflict which does not involve The USA! I hope to read many ...

    The Anza Deception by P.R.Ganapathy

I have just completed reading The Anza Deception. It holds the readers interest throughout and one would continue without putting the book down if at all possible! The settings are well researched and close to realities of the present day and it is not difficult to relate the main characters in this fiction to personalities in real life. The working in the corridors of power is depicted in an incisive manner not generally known to the 'outsiders". The links provide a great deal of interesting...

    Excellent cover design

What happens when India tries to wedge a gap between Pakistan and China?

What happens when the plot backfires.

Means Anza Mark III Shoulder fired surface to air missiles.

Special mention of cover, that summerizes the story.

    An impressive debut - a must-read!

An incredible first novel. Very well researched, the novel gives a great account of the forces at play in the India-Pakistan dynamic. At the heart of it though, it is a fast paced action thriller, which will keep you riveted as the tension slowly but surely ratchets up to a frenetic climax which is as unexpected as it is thought provoking. A must-read, in my opinion.
