    Description

Shaurya Chauhan, cricketer and captain, is having a string of unlucky events. As though it is not bad enough that his captaincy is being questioned, he is now being held as the prime suspect in a murder.

    Summary of the Book

The Big Fix is a thriller that revolves around the game of cricket. It includes elements of intrigue and murder that will add to the reader’s excitement. To top it all, there is also a love story that has been slipped in. The story is about a cricketer, Shaurya Chauhan, who is going through a rough patch as his skills as captain is being questioned and his team is close to being knocked out. Suddenly, things get worse when a coach is found dead. Shaurya is the prime suspect and everything seems to be slipping away. Will Shaurya manage to get out of this mess? A book on cricket will always be exciting in a country like India where cricket is considered more than just a sport. Also, a thriller with cricket as its main theme only makes it more sensational for the audience.

A great fix, a great read

A cricket thriller? Duh, I said. Not my kind of thing.

Cricket's not my game and I seem to have aged beyond thrillers.
So what made me read The Big Fix? For starters, the newsiness of it. When a journo who has been batting out front-page after front-page celebrating the Game, shaming fixers and bettors and probing the murder of a coach, any book he writes that centres around these themes promises to be well worth it.
Vikas Singh has based his first novel on the infamous, to some famous, I...

    Never buy this book

Total waste of time and money. There is nothing new in it. Better to see a soap opera than read this book.

    A hard-to-put-down cricketing whodunnit

This simple yet intriguing story of a cricket captain battling a poor form, a broken relationship, a possible murder charge and match-fixing allegations had me in its grip right from the word go.

Vikas Singh’s lucid writing gives life to the characters so convincingly that one actually gets the thrilling feeling of transcending the glitzy and glamorous world of cricketers that one gets to see on TV and newspapers and getting to know them as regular persons.

    Yet, cricketers are anything but...

Mind blowing thriller with unexpected twists and turns

Awesome book. Could not stop finishing this book at one go. Smart writing, with jaw dropping suspense and twist of events. This book is more pleasant since this is based on my favorite sport, cricket. This book can easily be compared to Sydney Sheldon or Fredric Forsyth. I won't forget Shaurya Chauhan easily!!!

Awaiting more books from this new author.

    Slick and fast-paced

This one was waiting to be written. A cricket league murder-and-betting scandal. You would have to be heavily into cricket to be able to fully appreciate this (and I mean REALLY into cricket). Besides a police officer on the fringes, there is no proxy detective doing to do the digging for you. You'd have to really look hard, read the matches, conversations and what have you, and do the sleuthing yourself . In case you're not into the game so much, there is always the will-they-won't-they roma...
