A odd & mildly interesting book.
I bought this book based on the review in "The Economist" magazine. Apparently the original was in Dutch and this is a translated version - Maybe this is better in the original Dutch. As another reviewer noted, this get interesting more in the middle of the book, the first couple of section being a slow drag. Much of the book takes place at the dinner of the title, but it's a reflection on the events in the preceding week or two. It's supposed to be a study on how far parents would go to prot...
I picked this book because NPR books recommended it. I was interested to know how the author, Herman Koch, can write an entire novel about one dinner.
