I may call it one of the best translations of the The Divine Comedy by Dante, though at moments you may find it really irritating as the notes aren't on the corresponding page.
But it's really worth a try as it's exactly similar to that of Cary's version that was published in the 19th century. No Alterations.
Other translations I recommend are by Robert Pinsky, and John Ciardi. Though I'm not sure if they're available on flipkart.

I don't need to tell you about the theme of this book - if you want to buy it, you must have the general idea of what this book is about. I do, however, want to comment on the translation - it's quite powerful, succinct and thorough.

What really sets this book apart is, without a doubt, the extensive collection of notes at the end of the book. It really helps you understand the political and cultural references made by Dante throughout the book.

The best translation of Dante. It includes Botticelli's pictures related to the entire poem. The Introduction and the notes are descriptive enough and provide satisfactory details. The chronology section is lovable.

I bought this book to learn about punishments of sins we commit. But i am currently unable to go through it. English is in prose. and its a bit tough to read it.
