great book, but bad paper & print

this book is the best book i have ever read. i read it by downloading from net. then i bought this signet edition. but i haven't read a single page of this signet publication book due to its very bad paper quality. it has ruined my reading experience. flipkart should give paper quality previews.

Life changing author!

I can very easily say that Ayn Rand is one of the greatest authors this world has seen. This book has changed my views on so many topics.Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged are the best American books I have ever read.

Flawed, but brilliant

If we ignore the rabid extremism of Ms Rand's 'Objectivist' philosophy, ignore her protagonist's blatant disregard for civil rules(which is inextricably co-related with his terrorist action towards the end of the book) and the Quixotic, often laughably stupid nature of most of her other works, this book stands out and can be recognized as an inspirational piece of work for millions who've had to deal with compromises, mediocrity and lack of integrity throughout their lives.

Best till date

Let me announce honestly that this is the best book I have read till date. I almost forgot whether its day or night, dinner or breakfast while reading it and my only target was to know what lies ahead. I'd highly recommend this book for everybody.

Exceptional Characterization

The character of Howard Roark stands tall among all the adversities he faced. And one thing which i have picked from this book is - '' There are 2 great person in this world, one who is really great and the other even greater who recognises the great."

Good read

Although I disagree with the main point that the author intends to make, but still it shows you some hard and weird truths. I suggest a reading.

Howard Roark laughed!

That is the opening line of the book, and very aptly sets the tone of the rest of the lines to follow.

On my first reading of book , I baulked at the initial presentation of Roark, even to the extent of considering him a maniac. But the book transformed me , as I progressed through its pages, and I believe Howard Roark is the one character that I fall back to when I doubt and fear strikes me. When, I re-read the book, 4 years later ( after having read Atlas Shrugged) , I could see more cl...

Pretentious and Boring!

A strictly pseudo-intellectual approach to philosophy. Sorry, but a few contradictory statements thrown in at every juncture are not only annoying but make the book a repulsive read. Ayn Rand expounds her theory of Objectivism through the book. The lesser said about that, the better it is.Viewed through the lens of this book, the world is either too idealitic or too cunning. Not to mention a depressing read. Perhaps the greatest strength of this book-and maybe the only one-is that it will inv...

An Epitome of Modern Literature

Never in a book have I ever read through each and every line, strived to understand the nuances.. Very engaging not by the plot but by the quality of literature. This is an epitome of modern literature and it was written 60 years back. Makes me feel my intellect growing along with the story. Makes me regret reading Dan Brown and Robin Sharma books..

Regarding this edition, the font is very small, poorly spaces and hard to read. Could've made the size of the book bigger to fit in its content...
