Very good book

Stephen hawking has the ability to cover loads of scientific stuff in simplest of languages. He focuses on the question --> if there is a creator of a grand design ?? or just creation itself exists and if.. there is only creation then what are the rules that govern this world and our position in it.General relativity ,space time, quantum principles of weird microscopic world ,multiverse, Feynman sum over paths, theory of everything he touches all in short and sweet manner..and lastly mentions th...

Lucid introduction to Universe and her Laws

This book is a nice mix of philosophy and physics and a very lucid introduction to origin of universe and the natural laws of physics. The book doesn't have a very detailed coverage, its short, precise and very much stick to its basic question. The intention is not to describe what the authors have done but to give a concise desription of why space time and cosmos is like what it is and what are the fundamental laws of nature to shape them like that. Its a very nice reading all through and th...

A must read for all those with a scientific bent of mind

As part of our education, we have all come to understand that all physical phenomena in this world has cause and effect and all living beings respond to stimuli. What this book does is explain this in simple language and takes it to a depth which helps us understand origin of the world. Many myths we carry stands demolished with this book, but creation is an act of randomness in this universe gives us hope that there are worlds other than ours, where life exists.
Explaining God in physical te...

One of the best

This is one of the best books that I've ever read. The language is simple. If you have you maths and physics basics right, then all the concepts in the book can be clearly understood. A must read for the people with a scientific bent of mind.
Stephen Hawking is undoubtedly one of the world's greatest scientists.

great book

Its a great book but you might need to know the basics to understand the concepts even though it is simple.(not simple enough for everyone).
But if you have the basic knowledge and ready to take a mind twisting journey about everything then buy this book already.
It is not that every one cannot understand but it would better if you remember your high school physics.

A good summary of Hawking's research

The Grand Design is basically a set of essays that encompass all of Stephen Hawking's previous work on the evolution of the universe, black holes, and the unification of physics. The matter has been updated since his earlier books, and includes references to String Theory as well. However, much of his work in A Brief History of Time has been revisited and built upon in this book.
While I found the book very interesting and readable, it broke much less new ground than I had hoped for. It is, o...
