Summary of the Book

Julia Barenson has been living a lonely life since the death of her husband. Four years later, she finds the strength in her to be able to see other men. While she sets out to test the waters, she meets Richard Franklin, a sophisticated engineer. He wines and dines her for a while, and treats her like a queen. She also finds that she has romantic thoughts about her best friend, Mike Harris. Mike may not be as refined and suave as Richard, but he is funny, loyal and has made good friends with Julia’s dog, Singer. However, she has to choose just one among them and innocently makes a choice. She does not realize the consequences of her choice until the start of a string of events that are dangerous and deadly. This is a novel about love, jealousy and obsession that will have you hooked till the end.
