It could have been better but, nonetheless, it is definitely a good read!

I had certain apprehensions before buying the book because it is categorized as teen fiction in one of the book shops. And I wondered whether it'll be worth the money to buy it. Anyway, I took a dive and bought it. Surprisingly, it is a much better book than what I had thought of the worst.
The plot is interesting. Although it is mostly predictable, there are few interesting turns in the story. But the backdrop is unlike we've heard of earlier and makes up for the predictability of the story....

Average book

I had seen the film 'The Hunger Games' before reading this book. Normally, we all lament that the scriptwriter was not able to capture the essence of the book itself and left out many details. But in this case, the book has got nothing more to offer in terms of details or imagination. Kudos to the film crew, for doing justice to whatever little was mentioned in the book.

I bought this book, after reading reviews from goodreads.com and thinking that this book could whip up my interest. But it...

Extraordinary book of an extraordinary girl.

Plot (5 out of 5): the story just pulls you into a world where hope and strong will is very hard to nourish. it makes you bitter yet surprisingly you cannot wait to know what happens further.

Character development (5 out of 5): the story unfolds through the eyes of 16 years old girl who is trying to stay alive in a very hostile environment. you want to cry your eyes out to such unjust done by government so called "CAPITOL". i actually cried at some point i will not tell you when in the story...

An Unpredictable Book!!!!

One of the most amazing books i've ever read!!!! I'ts quite different from the movie. The movie has quite a few important details that spice up the story missing in it. So, if you've seen the movie and have decided to not read it......think back, think about what you'd miss. You've never read it all unless you've read the hunger games series. A book that talks about the cruelty of the elite and rich people. Talks about the difficulties that the poor face.......and yeah......somewhere it turns...

Excellent quality with a mediocre story ..

This is the 1st book which I bought in flipkart with such bold letters. Pleasing to the eye when I read. As usual Flipkart delivery was superb. Just 2 days after the order. Story wise it was just okay. It was good in parts but overall not as absorbing as I had expected..

Excellent

The hunger Games is one of the most exhilarate books i have ever read. It's bind you in the elusive dystopian world of panem which in the past is known as North America.

Full credit to suzanne collins, it's a real page turner and excellently written. There's never a dull moment in the book even though some events are predictable, but you won't have problem reading the guessing part because the fluency of her writing is inexplicable.

It's starts of with a simple hunting trip and mystery unravel...

Unputdownable tale of woe and hope

The book opens on a bleak note, and it sets down the tone for the rest of the pages. And when you feel that there's absolutely no hope to clutch to, something miraculous happens.
The plot is designed to keep the readers hooked, and though not always unpredictable, it suffices to keep us enthralled.
The characterization is to the point, and although I find parallels between the characters of Peeta Mellark and Edward Cullen and Jacob Black and Gale Hawthorne, the similarity stops there. Well-e...
