    Description

The Immortals of Meluha is the first book of the Shiva Trilogy. The book is about the discovery of the Neelkanth and the arrival of Shiva and his tribe to the city of Meluha. The Suryavanshi rulers and their empire is facing trouble and Shiva is the only one who can save them.

    Summary of the Book

Shiva and his tribe have arrived to the great city of Meluha. The city is an almost perfect city which was created by Lord Ram who was the greatest monarch that ever lived and is dearly respected by the Meluhans. However, the beautiful empire is under threat as the river Saraswati, which is crucial to their existence, is drying up. Moreover, the Suryavanshis are being threatened by their enemies, the Chandravanshis. The Chandravanshis have managed to receive the support of the Nagas, a race of deformed human beings who are experts with their martial skills. The Suryavan have only one hope and that is an ancient legend which says that when evil reaches epic proportions there will be a hero who will come to save them. They believe that Shiva is this hero, but whether or not this is true is not too clear. Also, will Shiva want to help them and help destroy evil?

    Nice one, different view

First I want to tell about the page quality of the book. It is too poor to keep the book for a long time, but comparing to the price, a book of pages more than 400 should not be better than that.

Now the storyline. Thanks Amish to write such type of mythological novel. He look through the myth in his own view, in this book Amish tells a story of a common man who transfers to Lord Shiva (A warrior God of Hindus). Here Shiva is a man not a god. He falls in love, he cruelly fights for his race, h...

The novel itself is very absorbing and nicely plotted. I finished it with expectation of same quality in next 2 parts of the trilogy. Bengali translation is upto the mark.

    God was human

This is very good as a fiction. It depicted lord Shiva as a mortal. This is awesome. Though there are some faults regarding historical facts. But I am satisfied.

    Questions and Answers
Q:Does this book depict the real life of lord shiva? Or a imagined one by the author?
A:It has nothing to do with the established concepts. It's a fiction, attempting to impart more humanly logical and materialistic elements into the storyline. This is not a theistic event.

A:Yes. Don't read the book as if reading story of shiv, read the story like you are reading for a common man who distinguished himself through his Karma.
