Description
Can people splintered by tragedy become whole again? Puja is lost. Her past is filled with pain, her present is scarred by secrets and her future seems barren and unwelcoming. Unmoored, her only defence against the cruelty of life is retreat and isolation. Until a chance encounter forges an inexplicable bond. A relationship that transcends the barriers of age, class and family. A mentally deficient sweeper woman, teenage friendships, early romances, adult dynamics and unforeseen circumstances weave together a story of love, loss and hope. Can one heal and recover from grief? Can the void left behind by the departure of a beloved ever be filled? Can fractured relationships ever be repaired? As a teenager, wise beyond her years, Puja slowly comes to understand the profound and transformative power of love and sacrifice.

Author Info
  • Always a voracious reader, Poornima started writing at the age of eight and never really stopped, although there were many dry spells. She found her writing voice in 2009 when a short story of hers placed in an online competition run by The Guardian newspaper. Having re-discovered her first love, she started her online blog at www.poornimamanco.wordpress.com. Initially, she published many of her stories, thoughts and musings there. In 2018, she decided to take a leap of faith into Indie publishing and compiled her stories into two separate books as a part of a trilogy. She is currently at work on the third book of short stories. Most of her tales are set in India as her formative years were spent there. Born and brought up in New Delhi, she moved to the United Kingdom in her twenties. Yet, she has never been able to cut the umbilical cord that ties her to her birthplace.
